What Evidence (free) 05:38
Another long, hard, walk for you / to take right out but / I swear that I'll be true / You / may have some / I - - - Dea, about / where I've been / but where've you been? / You've been bad. / Mindin' mine. Findin' my own grand design. But the plans are flawed. / You try to make sense, but what evidence points to the good? / Yeah. / Where have the stars gone? / Time has just begun. / (Bridge) / What about the bridges burned, and the lessons you've learned / And a love that's unreturned, but you send it out...

I'll meet you under the stairs, if anywhere / I'll be aware when time does not become pain / and you say go away. / This cheap modern convenience can't replace the lips. / But I'm sure that you keep a list / Of stupid kids that told you all of their secrets. / Have a safe ride home, honey, I know / I'm not ready, I don't have / Enough for you to use.

You turn me on / And it's oh so hard to turn me off
6.
I thought you would / know ??? / but here I am / Talk to strangers, strangers - strange people that you just don't know / They want to give you candy / Go ahead, take the candy / You know its sweet / And then you got the meat...

about

Subungual Ecchymosis came about in somewhere around 1998, when both Aaron and I ( Drury ) were sophomores in high school. We both went to Hamilton High School on the west side of Los Angeles but lived in the Valley, and since we had a 2 hour commute on the school bus each way every day, we didn't lead the happy, normal lives that our fancier west-side friends had access to. To me, this music directly reflects our turmoil about not knowing what the fuck to do to feel good and belonging somewhere. It also kills - with Aaron on his ratty bass and me on his brother's drum set, which I over time pummeled into oblivion, there's a fusion of musics occurring that I've yet to find anywhere else in modern sounds. I feel like if we'd known what the fuck to do, we would've pre-empted the impossibly shit "post-punk" music that exists outta Los Angeles today - __ ___ comes to mind - and placed well in our little time slot of development. No such luck. LA's an egregious asshole with a drug habit and Subungual died like some of the kids I went to school with - trying to find where they belong in this city that belongs to those that can abandon it.

All songs recorded on a Sony Walkman Recorder, 1998-2001.
All songs improvised.
